Christmas

We head out for Idaho tomorrow so we decided to celebrate Christmas a few days early. Last night Colin helped me bake cookies for Santa. His new favorite thing is to wear his backpack everywhere, as you have probably seen in the last few posts.
This was the living room before the kids woke up.
We had a wonderful 5:45 AM wake-up call, which is actually a bit late for Colin and Sawyer.
Here is the room after the presents were opened. It was a long process with a few breakfast and coffee breaks. We also had to beg and plead with Colin to keep opening presents because he kept getting side-tracked with his current present.

Sawyer was only interested in what Colin was opening and playing with. And Colin was only interested in Sawyer's toys. Ahh the joys of Christmas morning.

One Cool Dude

Sawyer's Birthday Hat

I couldn't resist posting the picture of him in his birthday hat. I drove all over the place trying to find one!

Sawyer's 1st Birthday

We celebrated Sawyer's 1st birthday tonight with a small pizza party. Grandpa Brian, Cortney and Andrew came over for the party. We did things backwards....cupcakes and presents first, then pizza after Sawyer went to bed. Poor Sawyer spent his birthday morning at the Pediatrician and we found out he has a double ear infection. Fortunately it is not too serious and he should be fine in a few days.

Sawyer did a lot better on his first birthday cake then Colin did. He picked it up right away and stuffed it in his mouth.
I think we may have a cake fan on our hands.

Colin and Andrew helped Sawyer open his presents. As you can see, Sawyer is in a diaper and I changed shirts. It got a bit messy taking him out of his high chair after the cake.

Fireman Colin was on the job in case the birthday candle flame got a little out of hand.

Our night out

Last night Dustin and I had a night out on the town. We started at a wedding reception of coworkers of mine. They were married in Las Vegas a few weeks ago and hosted their reception at the Kennedy Center. We all had tickets to the National Symphony Orchestra and then there was a small reception afterwards. Unfortunately we had to leave at intermission to drive 30 miles to Leesburg to attend a Christmas party hosted by Dustin's client. This is where the above picture was taken. We had a great time at both functions and Colin and Sawyer had a great time playing with Jessica (the babysitter).

Grandma's Attempt at a Christmas Picture

I think the picture says it all. Of course this was the best picture of Sawyer out of any of them.
